Top 5 Music and Podcasts Apps on Android in Ghana, Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the music and podcast app landscape in Ghana on Android saw varied performances among the top five applications, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Audiomack: Music Downloader maintained a consistent weekly revenue, peaking at around $142 in the last week of September. The app experienced a significant fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting strong at over 247K in early July but gradually declining to about 61K by the end of the quarter. Despite this, its weekly active users remained robust, hovering above 2M throughout the quarter.

Boomplay: Music & Live Stream showed a gradual decline in weekly revenue, from $105 in early July to $60 by the end of September. Weekly downloads also decreased from around 22K to 13K, while weekly active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with approximately 514K users.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts did not generate any revenue during this period. However, it maintained a consistent download rate, averaging around 10K weekly. Its active user base remained stable, averaging just above 200K throughout the quarter.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts experienced modest changes in weekly revenue, starting at $389 and settling at $314 by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated, with a notable spike to 12.7K in the last week. Active users saw a decline from about 289K in early July to around 267K by the end of the quarter.

Lastly, Make Money: Play & Earn Cash did not report any revenue. Downloads increased notably from 3.3K to 5.5K over the quarter. The app's active users also grew significantly, from approximately 8.7K to 15K by the end of September.
